In January, a national baking competition was launched across the UK to find a ‘Platinum Pudding’ for the Queen’s Jubilee. And now the Duchess of Cornwall has teamed up with legendary chef Mary Berry to announce the winning recipe.

Camilla will appear in a BBC documentary The Jubilee Pudding: 70 years of baking, which follows the journey of the competition to find an original recipe that will play a central role in the jubilee celebrations. The Duchess and future Queen Consort will announce the competition winner at the end of the program, after which the pudding recipe will be made available to all.

“Following in the footsteps of Coronation Chicken and Victoria Sponge, this winning recipe will go down in history and be part of British cooking history,” said a statement announcing the programme. “Across the country on Jubilee weekend, the winning recipe will be recreated at street parties, family events, community gatherings and grand Jubilee luncheons as the centerpiece of the nation’s celebrations under the name of Platinum Pudding.”

There were nearly 5,000 entries from across the UK for the competition, which were narrowed down by experts to a shortlist of 50 in February. Buckingham Palace chef Mark Flanagan then joined a selection panel of just five recipes to advance to the final and prepare for the judges, including Mary Berry. Once the winning pudding was chosen, Camilla was asked to reveal the decision, with the documentary showing her announcement due to air next week.

The competition was launched by Fortnum & Mason alongside charity The Big Lunch, which encourages people to get together with friends and neighbors to eat and drink. The Jubilee Grand Luncheon on Sunday June 5 will be part of the extended weekend of Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Buckingham Palace has previously shared advice for attendees on Mark Flanagan’s social media. “Keep it simple,” was advice, along with “Think subtle and elegant rather than fussy and overly complicated.”

The winning recipe will eventually be available online via the BBC Good Food, Fortnum’s and The Big Jubilee Lunch websites.

The Jubilee Pudding: 70 years of baking airs Thursday, May 12 at 8 p.m. on BBC One in the UK. It is not yet known how it can be watched in the United States
