China to sell 23,488 tonnes of imported corn on July 23
BEIJING, July 21 (Reuters) – China will auction 23,488 tonnes of corn imported from Ukraine in an auction on July 23, according to the country’s grain storekeeper Sinograin on Wednesday.
The imported grains, stored in warehouses in Shandong and Guangdong provinces, were produced in 2020, according to a notice posted on the Sinograin website.
China began selling corn imported from state reserves in June, to replenish tight supplies and cool prices. Auctions fell, however, in a context of weak appetite for this corn in view of a bumper domestic harvest.
