Divine’s Debut Album ‘Kohinoor’ Achieves Multi-Platinum Status
Mumbai, June 15 (IANS) “Kohinoor”, rapper Divine’s debut album, has achieved multi-platinum status.
While “Kohinoor” was certified 20 times platinum, the album’s reggaeton-infused single “Chal Bombay” went 30 times platinum in March 2021.
The rapper describes his debut as one of his most personal endeavors, and being recognized for something you cherish has always been special.
“Kohinoor has been one of my most personal projects to date as it has allowed me to express myself authentically and tell my story to the world in an unwavering way. It’s really special to be recognized and appreciated for something that has so much meaning and value to me. Onward and upward, world domination is the goal! ” said Divine.
Released in 2019, the eight-track album features hip-hop elites like Grammy Award-winning ill Wayno, New York rapper Dave East, former Phenom collaborators aka Pinaki Rattan and Gully Gang associates like Shah Rule, Aavrutti and D’Evil, and Carnatic singer-songwriter Sid Sriram.
