Fujifilm announces price increase for its aluminum offset printing plates
Fujifilm today announces that it will implement a double-digit percentage increase in the price of its aluminum offset printing plates, effective June 1, 2022.
Over the past several months, Fujifilm has managed an increase in the cost of raw aluminum, as well as significant cost increases associated with its logistics supply chain, other raw materials and of course energy.
Fujifilm has worked tirelessly to manage and absorb these costs, with numerous changes to working practices to improve operational efficiency and minimize the impact of these rising costs on its customers. However, despite these efforts and the additional surcharges that have been passed on to customers, the continued supply of aluminum offset printing plates is not viable without further increases.
Therefore, from June 1, 2022, Fujifilm will implement a double-digit percentage increase in the base price of its aluminum offset printing plates. Although this is a significant increase, Fujifilm is confident that to continue supplying aluminum printing plates as a sustainable business, there is no choice but to take this option. .
Taku Ueno, Senior Vice President at Fujifilm Graphic Systems EMEA, said: “Globally, we continue to see an unprecedented increase in costs, especially for logistics, energy and raw materials. Despite absorbing a large portion of these costs, we have no choice but to increase the base price of our aluminum printing plates so that we can operate a sustainable business. We understand that passing on these price increases to our customers presents them with difficult challenges, but the business is simply unsustainable without these increases. We will continue to work with our customers and support them through this difficult time.”
