HOLLYWOOD GODS N ‘MONSTERS, the new band of former bassist STEEL PANTHER, releases a sample of their first song
Travis Haley, former bassist (Lexxi Foxx) of longtime fan favorite metal band, Steel Panther, recently announced the formation of his new band, Hollywood Gods N ‘Monsters, along with a longtime friend and TV celebrity. from MTV’s Pimp My Ride, Diggity Dave.
A clip of the band’s first taste of the music, “Rock Your Fuckin Age”, can be heard below.
The Monsters – After performing for over two decades with his former band, Travis Haley had amicably decided to move on and do something a little different in the music and bass space. . Diggity Dave was quoted as saying, “It’s not like he ever thought he wasn’t challenged by the abundant amount of talent that resided within Steel Panther, it’s just that ‘he wanted to explore different types of music and was intrigued by some of the music I sent him.
Diggity Dave has been in television since the early 2000s but comes from the music world. Diggity was signed to Warner Brothers Records in the mid-90s with a band he led named Shake The Faith, which included Tommy Thayer (KISS) on guitar, Brian Jennings on guitar (who went on to perform with the artists). of TVT Closure) and drummer Danny Parker (who later co-founded Warner Brothers Beautiful Creatures recording artist). After a decade on MTV, Diggity has starred in countless other TV shows including Battleground Earth with longtime friend Tommy Lee (Motley Crue) and famous rapper Ludacris.
Travis, Diggity, Brian, Danny, and their singer 7even (Kris Aragon) have known each other for 20 years before collaborating on this grandiose and musical mishmash. Travis said: “I am very proud of what I have accomplished with my other group. Nothing can take away the memories and the camaraderie that have existed for all these years, but I just felt it was time for something new. When I heard this music, I knew it was the group of friends and the music I wanted to collaborate on.
Gods Before Monsters – Because Diggity, Brian and Danny had all played in a previous band together and had been Travis Haley’s best friends for more than half of their lives, the opportunity to form a new band was just too much. convincing not to do so. Diggity admits that the challenge was to figure out what kind of music they would build. “Once we figured it out, we set out to find the missing pieces that would propel the sound and sound needed to complete this parade of hooligans. We knew we needed two kinds of talents. An extraordinary rapper who could dismantle any genre of music and rebuild it in his image, and a singer who could terrorize the throat but tingle the testicles. We have managed to find the perfect providers of hard-hitting panic. A rapper named Hype (aka HMK) who is a phenomenon in the world not only of rap but also as a singer. Hype, who just released a single titled “Money & Power”, was already a bullet in the head of the music scene when brought into the fold of HGNM. Hype added, “I knew this was a great opportunity to represent legends past and present from all genres of music, while transforming music for a new generation. It was obvious to team up with these rockstars and “Define My Hype” to the world. “
To top it off, a singer by the name of 7even (also known as Kris Aragon). Travis says 7even (Kris) was vital to the band’s overall sound because the music demanded not only a female presence, but a woman who could occupy a musical space that skipped pop, punk, rock, rap and of the country.
Hollywood Gods N ‘Monsters – Their music is what some might call “mashup”, but they get flustered when people throw them into that category. HGNM is a new hybrid of musical forms, which has not been explored, but which is sure to ignite a million copy groups once they “blow up the region” and introduce the world to music “Smashup “. The group explains it as a mixture of styles, sounds, artists, genres and attitudes. Travis explains it this way: “This generation, the one that came before it and the one that follows it is ripe for a band like us. It’s about getting lost in the music, dancing, feeling alive. This is why the DJ scene has conquered music because people want to go to a show and identify and recognize the songs they ingest. They just want to be wrapped up in the music they know, their friends know, and damn… even their parents know that. Diggity concludes by saying, “We are not a cover band. It’s original stuff that we create, and it’s a living, breathing story of music. We equate it to what DJs do, but as a whole band that shatters the songs each generation has grown up with. What other band mixes 70s band Chic with Queen, Aerosmith, Sugarhill Gang, Blondie and DMX? And it’s just a song from us. Plus, kids want to see rock stars… larger-than-life entities on stage that reflect the atmosphere. Think of us as a big ass American jukebox… where all the records have melted together… except when you press B5… you get that plus B6, B7, B8 and the track you thought you knew is now a sewn Frankenstein jam it makes your ass shake harder than ever. “
