Neenah Joint School District receives Platinum Workplace Wellness Award | WFRV Local 5
NEENAH, Wisconsin (WFRV) – The Neenah Joint School District received the Wellness Council of America’s Platinum Award for the first time.
Jessica Lehman, the District Wellness Coordinator, said, “It’s an award that kind of shows the programs we run and how much we support our staff.
The district said their programs work on more than physical well-being, they also include financial and mental well-being.
District Superintendent Dr. Mary Pfeiffer said, “Every day of professional learning we have a wellness hour. And this Wellness Hour, we are giving our staff a choice of what they might want to participate in. “
Staff can choose from a variety of activities ranging from walking the track and reading to school-run classes.
“We brought in a chef and they taught people how to eat healthier. There is a financial wellness part where people can learn how to budget, ”Pfeiffer said.
And although this is the first time the district has won the highest honor, they have accomplished a lot in recent years by winning gold.
“This shows that the Neenah Joint School District cares about its employees and that they are more than their role here,” said Lehman.
