Platinum Jubilee Edition to be held in Kerala from February 20
The 75th edition of the Santosh Trophy Senior Men’s National Soccer Championship will start on February 20 and run through March 6 in Kerala, the Indian Football Association (AIFF) announced on Friday.
The government of Kerala welcomes the ten teams qualified for the final phase of the Santosh Trophy. The tournament draw will take place the first week of January next year.
“The Santosh Trophy is an integral part of the Indian football calendar and AIFF values the passion that surrounds the tournament. It is the year of the Platinum Jubilee, and as we look back on the majestic history of the tournament, with the support of the Government of Kerala, we aim to make it a great success, ”said the Secretary General of the AIFF, Kushal Das, in a statement.
The AIFF previously announced a collaboration with the government of Kerala on several football development projects, including the successful organization of the Senior Women’s National Championships which concluded earlier this month.
“We are grateful to the government of Kerala for their outstanding support in promoting Indian football together. The values of the AIFF support state governments and we seek a fruitful long-term relationship, ”said the Secretary General.
The Indian Senior Women’s National Team is also currently in preparation in Kochi for the upcoming 2022 AFC India Women’s Asian Cup with infrastructure support from the Kerala government.
