For that, Welspun One’s flagship project, Bhiwandi, recently received the award india 1st Green logistics park pre-certified Platinum by the prestigious Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), part of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).
Welspun One organized a special campaign to plant saplings on World Environment Day to commemorate this achievement and at the same time encouraged their community to plant trees and contribute to a greener environment. As part of this initiative, the company donated more than 500 saplings to its employees, workers at Bhiwandi Park, and various partners and associates, while adhering to COVID-19 protocols. To further raise awareness about reducing the carbon footprint, the company also donated saplings to residents of Bapgaon Naka and Chaudharpada village near the park.

Launched in july 2020 and currently under development, the Welspun One logistics park in Bhiwandi is designed in accordance with global standards and Green Building certification requirements. The design of the project promotes natural habitat and biodiversity on site by providing more than 12% green cover, including 2770 trees. The park aims to reduce water consumption by 37% by installing rainwater harvesting and wastewater treatment systems while using low-flow devices. The company is also committed to ensuring that 96% of construction waste is diverted for reuse or recycling and that approximately 68% of materials used in the project are environmentally friendly.
Well connected to bus stops, NH 3 and 4 and Mumbai Airport – the project is expected to help reduce the carbon footprint of car traffic. In addition to the park, Welspun One is also working on ecological measures beyond the fence such as installing solar photovoltaic systems, street lighting, renovating public toilets and other such facilities for the good. – social welfare of the occupants of neighboring communities and villages.
